Ik stop voor vandaag met posten, ik ben echt zooo onwijs klaar met die internet verbinding hierzo… ze kunnen het het beter internot noemen.

Jaaaaaahaaa ik moet vaker posten, jullie zeggen het allemaal, maar heb je wel eens geprobeerd een weblog in de lucht te houden als je weken van 75 uur draait?? nee dus…. nou het is vrij druk dus !!
Op dit moment zit ik dan ook dit verhaaltje te tikken op mn macbook in een hotel tijdens een meeting van de Shell top. Welleens op zo’n KPN hotspot gewerkt? Oh man wat traag !! gelukkig betaal ik er nu niets voor, maar je gaat voor zo’n snelheid toch niet 5 euro per uur betalen !!! ik ga liever op een leuke manier failliet !!

Vorige week hadden we een week lang het cultuur op de kade festival, erg leuk festival op een havenkade in Assen. De bands die speelden waren; Dennis, Boris & Band, Heideroosjes, Osdorp Posse, Nou en en dan nog de bijbehorende voorprogramma’s. Zaterdag was er trouwens ook nog een kinderpopconcert (voor wel 15 koters haha niet echt drukbezocht dus)

Afgelopen week heb ik de hele week mijn tijd gespendeerd aan het ‘cultuur op de kade’ festival te assen. Het leuke van dit festival is dat er elke dag een andere soort muziek te horen is we hadden best leuke artiesten zoals Denns, Boris en band en de heideroosjes….. als hekkensluiter hadden we Osdorp Posse (yoyoyo uhu uhu,… ii wil iedereen zien bouncuuuh yoyoyo).

Na een jaar Engels getypt te hebben ben ik ook wel weer eens aan verandering toe en doen we het gewoon lekker verder in het Niederlandisch.. ook leuk.. Nee serieus jullie hebben er zelf voor gekozen in de poll op dit blog, dus eigen schuld dikke bult

Afgelopen tijd lekker druk geweest met diverse producties, pinksterfeesten Delfzijl, tour voor een organisatie die More Balls Than Most heet (onwijs leuke jongleershows) enzovoorts.
Hier volgen dan even wat fotootjes;

As you know I’m an apple user, and because the rest of the entire universe seem to like the bill gates software more there are a lot of applications for OSX users to make life a lot more easier…
Today I tried out crossover, a program that translates an exe file to a language that your apple computer understands, without installing the entire windows xp operating system
I installed both the D5 software as Smaart 5.4….. and here are my experiences…

Smaart: no problem !! crossover rules,… it even runs better and with better stability than on my 1.5 GHZ windows laptop I had in the past.

D5 application: This was actually not very good at all…. because the D5 console uses the entire operting system to control the D5 surface it has some real issues with crossover. Everything works fine when you stay in the main D5 application, but the nightmare begins when you quit to the ‘configure hardware’ window, I think crossover doesn’t get the message that when you give this command you actually want to go to the digiconfig.exe program !

Conclusion; a pretty cool application for running smaart and stuff like that in your familiar OSX environment…. not a very cool application when you want to run something that consists out of a number of small exe files, because when switching between exe file, crossover really doesn’t get what you want to do.

Hey guys ! Finally I got my new macbook !!!!!! this thing is absolutely great !!

Here you can see my new dual-core monster,… cool huh! I even got an external bluetooth mightymouse

This week we did -again- a lot of corporate events,… we had the rensa stadium tour this week in alkmaar in the soccer stadium of AZ. Here you can see my friend Chris dragging a DM2000 to FOH. As you can see we had less than optimal logistic possibilities !

On this photo it looks pretty funny,… at that time it wasn’t !!

Do you know what a Tissu act is? it’s a person who does some acrobatic tricks in a piece of curtain that hangs like 5 meters above the floor… without any safety stuff !!!

This is Judith doing her thing, pretty amazing !!

Well, that was about it, I am really busy installing all my documents to my new macbook so have a nice weekend !!

This week’s a bit quieter than usual, and that’s a good thing, because now we have more time to do some maintenance! Good maintenance is very important for this type of equipment, because at a show failure isn’t an option, consoles, amps, speakers everything is exposed to extreme cold, heat, moisture and other distructive types of weather the earth can throw at you!!

Here’s a Midas console which had some trouble with it’s headphones amp….

Our electronics expert Paul ‘krauskopf’ is fixing the potentio meter….

Owh yeah this one was really funny !! We brought our D5′s to a company in Utrecht for maintenance, and when it was time to pick them up we thought… yeaah they will fit in our Mercedes Vito easily !!

mmmh I must say it was a tight fit, but we managed to get them in !

Tymen our intern is wondering how we got it in the car in the first place
